Jan Matejko not only created his great painting compositions but also studied the design of costumes, draperies and craftwork. He was also collecting  valuable items and antique equipment, as well as clothes from bygone times and fabrics made of silk, satin, damask or velvet, and heavy fabrics interlaced with gold and brought from Italy…

To tutaj zwiedzający poznają swojego przewodnika, który podczas wędrówki opowie im o historii i tajemnicach Kopalni. O rządzących nią siłach przyrody…

This is where visitors meet their guide who will tell them something about the history and the secrets of the Salt Mine during the sightseeing. He will also refer to the forces of nature ruling the Salt Mine.

Pozna także inną stronę Kopalni.

You will also get to know the other side of the Salt Mine.

*The assembled company was greeted by Bronisław Komorowski, the Speaker of the Sejm, who stated that the re-enactment is a part of the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Second World War. ‘We are celebrating this anniversary in such a manner that will let us comprehend also the present situation of Poland,’ he said.

Poprawiamy:

The assembled company was greeted by Bronisław Komorowski, the Speaker of the Sejm, who stated that the re-enactment is a part of the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Second World War. ‘We are celebrating this anniversary in a manner that will also let us comprehend the present situation of Poland,’ he said.

Lub:

The assembled company was greeted by Bronisław Komorowski, the Speaker of the Sejm, who stated that the re-enactment is a part of the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Second World War. ‘We are celebrating this anniversary in a manner that will let us comprehend the present situation of Poland, too,’ he said.

Następny przykład:

Wisła stanowiła też naturalny punkt obrony – w 1920 roku ostatni i najistotniejszy. Cud nad Wisłą – jedna z najważniejszych bitew w dziejach Europy – tu się właśnie rozgrywała.

* Vistula constituted also an important defense point – the last and the most significant one in 1920. The Miracle at the Vistula – one of the critical battles in the history of Europe – took place here.

Poprawiamy:

The Vistula also constituted an important natural defense point – most recently and significantly in 1920. The Miracle of the Vistula, one of the critical battles in the history of Europe, was played out here.

I kolejny przykład:

* He was, as well, collecting valuable objects and also antique appliances, ancient attires and silk, satin, damask or velvet cloth as well as heavy materials with gold, brought from Italy – often assigned for liturgical vestments.

Natomiast jeśli wybieramy as well, musi ono powędrować na dalsze miejsce w zdaniu:

He was collecting valuable objects  as well, and also antique appliances, ancient attires and silk, satin, damask or velvet cloth as well as heavy materials with gold thread, brought from Italy – often assigned for liturgical vestments.

Podobnie umiejscowimy too:

He was collecting valuable objects  too, alongside antique appliances, ancient attires and silk, satin, damask or velvet cloth as well as heavy materials with gold thread, brought from Italy – often assigned for liturgical vestments.

Można stworzyć wersję tego zdania z inwersją:

Not only was he collecting valuable objects, but also antique appliances, ancient attires and silk, satin, damask or velvet cloth as well as heavy materials with gold thread, brought from Italy – often assigned for liturgical vestments.

I kolejny przykład:

* The first narrow-gauge horse-drawn tram line, the route of which went through the Main Market Square, was opened also in 1882.

Also  the first narrow-gauge horse-drawn tram line, the route of which went through the Main Market Square, was opened in 1882.

Ale jeszcze lepsza wersja będzie taka:

The first narrow-gauge horse-drawn tram line, the route of which went through the Main Market Square, was opened in 1882, too.

Dodatkowym problemem może być negacja:

Pomarańcze i cytryny w biblijnych czasach nie były jeszcze dobrze w Ziemi Świętej zadomowione. Niekoniecznie też spełniały kryteria  rajskich owoców.

* Oranges and lemons weren’t popular in the Holy Land in biblical times. They also didn’t necessarily  have the characteristics of heavenly fruit.

Już lepiej byłoby:

Oranges and lemons weren’t popular in the Holy Land in biblical times. Also they didn’t necessarily  have the characteristics of heavenly fruit.

Oranges and lemons weren’t popular in the Holy Land in biblical times. Neither did they necessarily  have the characteristics of heavenly fruit.
Lub:
Oranges and lemons weren’t popular in the Holy Land in biblical times. Nor did they necessarily  have the characteristics of heavenly fruit.

Mamy tu dwie ulęgałki do poprawy:

* The forty years of Maurice Benyowsky’s life were full of amazing events and adventures, and at the same time so many legends concerning him have arisen that it is still hard to prove what is true and what is a fictional story. This exhibition also does not answer the question, where the border between fact and fiction lays.

Poprawiamy:

The forty years of Maurice Benyowsky’s life were full of amazing events and adventures, and at the same time so many legends concerning him have arisen that it is still hard to tell fact from fiction. Where is the border between them?  This exhibition does not answer that question, either.

Oraz:

*40 years long life of Beniowski burst at the seams with great events and adventures and at the same time created so many legends it is still hard to prove what a historical truth is and what carries more of a fantastic story. Nor this exposition gives an answer on where to draw the line between the reality and fiction.

Pomóżmy mu:

Beniowski’s 40 years of  life were packed with great events and adventures and at the same time created so many legends that it is still hard to tell fact from fiction. This exposition won’t give you an answer, either,  as to where to draw the line between the reality and the make-believe.

W latach 70-tych ubiegłego wieku Peter Cook i Dudley Moore występowali w popularnym programie satyrycznym w telewizji BBC – „Not Only But Also”.
